On October 30th, dockworkers around the world will be going on strike in protest of imperialist war and economic conditions. A follow up to a similar strike that took place in February, this strike is planned to be even bigger with unions at over 100 ports across four continents pledging support. In the US, Locals 10 and 34 of the ILWU will be striking at ports in Oakland and San Francisco.
The Communist Workers Platform USA expresses its solidarity to the dockworkers in the U.S. and abroad. The scale of the strike shows the growing opposition to the forces of imperialist war. The growing anger of the working class must be cultivated further into direct conflict with NATO and other imperialist alliances so that the worker can be freed from exploitation and imperialism.
