Solidarity with the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) and its Militants
Leading up to the NATO Summit in Turkey July 7-8, activists of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) have taken to the streets to condemn the meeting of imperialists and their terroristic plans for the oppression and exploitation of the workers and peoples around the world. The TKP has led demonstrations against NATO for several weeks. In response, Ankara was blockaded and protests banned after the Erdogan government plunged the country into a state of emergency in an attempt to intimidate and suppress any opposition to NATO’s business of death.
The comrades of the TKP lead by example and met the challenge, clashing with police and leading the struggle against the repressive forces of the Turkish bourgeoisie who are shackling the workers and people of Turkey to the intensification of imperialist antagonisms and war preparations. Hundreds have been taken into custody, yet protests persist! NATO must be smashed, and we must be brave enough to smash it.
We express our solidarity with the comrades of the TKP and the working people of Turkey in the struggle against NATO and the bourgeois Turkish state alike. The only way forward is to strengthen our confrontation with capital in every arena, to organize the social forces necessary to end war involvement and the exploitative system from which it is produced.
Release the captured workers! Abolish NATO!
