U.S. Government Preparing to Keep Its Word on Cuba
“We’ll take it over almost immediately,” Trump said earlier this month in regards to this administration’s plans for Cuba. With the U.S. looking for a win to compensate for the war in Iran, which looks to become a devastating loss, and with Marco Rubio personally leading a crusade against the country, the U.S. is making preparations to make good on its promise of imperialist conquest. The USS Nimitz aircraft carrier has been moved to the Caribbean to respond to orders against Cuba and to intimidate (1). The U.S. has indicted Raúl Castro over the false accusation of shooting down a civilian aircraft in 1996 (2). CIA officials have been making visits and assessing the risks that could come with a U.S. attack on Cuba, and drone flights have been conducting reconnaissance (3). The hard lines that are being drawn lay out in clear detail that the U.S. has decided on regime change and is preparing its strategy.
Cuba has been completely drained of gasoline and diesel, due primarily to U.S. blockades as well as the global supply shock. Everything from hospitals to heavy industries are shutting down. The body count has been growing as a direct result of this crisis, which is being used as leverage to force the Cuban government to capitulate to the U.S.
This cannot stand. We must do everything we can to mobilize against the U.S. imperialist conquest of Cuba. The blockade must be lifted and the Cuban people must be allowed to live.
Cuba, you are not alone!
¡Cuba no está sola!
